Intel to Pay AMD 1.25 Billion USD to Stop Legal Disputes

Intel Announced that it is paying 1.25 billion USD to AMD to settles their on-going legal procedures (including anti-trust and patent infringement lawsuits). In return AMD will stop all suits in US and Japan, as well as withdraw or not initiate suits to antitrust authorities worldwide. While Intel appealed the decision from the European Commission in May to fine the founder 1.45 billion USD for violating European antitrust law, EU representatives already reacted to Intel-AMD settlement but made it clear that it does not change anything concerning the on-going lawsuit initiated by the EC and the fact that Intel has to comply with EU laws.
