Intel Sold for 1 Billion $ of ATOM CPU

  During its last quarter financial report and its surprising 19% increase of its results, Intel executives massively commented the success of ATOM CPU. This cheap CPU (to produce and its associated low price on retail) turned out to be the Holy Grail for Intel during this economic crisis. The company announced to have already sold 1 billion $ of ATOM chipsets. In addition, they also commented on the future of this CPU. As expected from previous reports, it will evolve towards a double core model while another model will offer a single core unit associated with a GPU on the same die. It already has a name, GMA 310. As it names indicates it, it will be an evolution of the current X3100 that powered the graphical performance of MacBook units prior the adoption of the NVIDIA G9400M, however, its performance levels are reported to be much higher even though no third party could have rationally evaluated those claims with some benchmarks.
