Intel puts more and more into its processors

After having put on its processors, the memory controller and even a graphics card, Intel wants to go even further. In margin of the Intel Developer Forum that is not yet open, the foundry announced the Jasper Forest. It acts simply as a Xeon engraved in 32 Nm and intended for the professional portables. In addition , it will take a controller charged to manage the input/output, like PCI Express. The acknowledged goal of Intel is to simplify to the maximum the structure of the mother boards and to increase the performances thanks to the proximity of the various elements with the central processor. The unstated goal will be certainly to completely block the manufacturers to propose chips (northbridge, southbridge) to accompany the Intel processors on the mother boards.  Jasper Forest should be available to at the beginning of 2010.
