The end of power cables within 5 years

A startup called WiTricity has the ambitious target of making power cables obsolete within 5 years. To arrive at this point, it intends to use a technology called " magnetically coupled resonance" , or magnetic coupling of resonance that would be able to supply a mp3 player or a larger electronic device such as a computer or a television set. To reassure, Eric Giler, the CEO of the company says that the generated magnetic field would be without danger since it would be equivalent to the usual Earth's magnetic field between its two poles. If creators of this company were not graduates of the famous American university we would certainly believe this to be a hoax, however, even so, some doubts about the viability of this technology remain.
