According to the last rumors on the web, the future architecture of ATI/AMD GPU, known as RV870, might mark a turn when compared to the current Radeon HD 4870 and 4890 (aka RV770). Indeed, performance gain might increase dramatically, up to 60% than current GPU. They should be officially announced in a near future. In less than 2 months, they will have to face the new generation coming from NVidia, expected in November.
