MobileMe subscribers encounter SMTP problems

At least some MobileMe subscribers have been experiencing problems with Apple's SMTP servers, according to forum discussion. In attempting to send out e-mails, the subscribers have been running into timeouts, at which point they have been prompted to pick another SMTP server. The consequence has been inconsistent delivery, frequently blocked but sometimes successful.
