iTunes 8.2.1 breaks Palm Pre syncing

The latest update to iTunes, version 8.2.1, has reportedly broken the Palm Pre's ability to sync with iTunes. Shortly after the update was released, reports of the break began circulating--a fate we alluded to a couple weeks ago.
