BlackBerry: The End of an Era?

According to a study published by Piper Jaffray (hey might be right sometimes) competitions driven by Apple iPhone and Palm Pré have massively impacted RIM and its sales of BlackBerry massively dropped in June. For AT&T (iPhone exclusive carrier in USA), iPhone 3GS and the 3G models have dramatically reduced sales of BlackBerry. For Sprint, exclusive carrier for the Palm Pré, this new models has captured its market shares from BlackBerry. thankfully for RIM, BlackBerry models keep selling well with T-Mobile, as this carrier does not have any exclusive partnership for the Pré or the iPhone. Of course, Palm and Apple will have to demonstrate if they can last as RIM does it for now years on this market. For the iPhone, the new entry ticket at 99 USD will for sure strengthen its basis, while Pré still have to demonstrate its capacity to become a major player in the field.
