iPhone 3G S troubled by high-pitched sounds

Some users of the iPhone 3G S -- launched last Friday -- are continuing to experience a serious sound issue, Apple support discussions reveal. After various sounds on the device are played, such as the effects for unlocking or text messaging, owners may encounter a high-pitched tone. The frequency of the tone is thought to be near 15KHz.
