Even with the performance hit from the last slot only working at x4 bandwidth the board still has support for a multi-GPU config, but only for Crossfire. ASUS lists the board as being capable of Quad-Crossfire support, but I think we can all safely assume that would be a silly thing to run, even if the second PCIe was x8.
