The 24-carat gold MacBook Pro, with diamond studded Apple logo

For Apple owners, there's one consistent event that can make their shiny new device seem dull and boring: the replacement of their specific device with a new one from Apple. Now there's a new Apple gadget on the block that literally makes every other Apple device look dull. A company called Computer Choppers has put together a Gold-plated MacBook Pro, with an appropriately diamond studded Apple logo. Should go nicely with your gold plated

Keepin' it real fake, part LXXXVII: "Manhattan" mobile not a T-Mobile Dash
Filed under: Cellphones
Although this "Manhattan" Wide Screen GSM Dual Card Mobile phone doesn't rip-off any logos, it most certainly is more than "inspired" by T-Mobile's Dash. You probably won't want to pick up this $224.99 model, unless you don't mind living without any internet access at all (it doesn't even do GPRS), but if you need a phone that does two SIM cards -- we can't imagine what for -- then you're in luck. Then again, if you live in the US or Canada, you're out of luck again, because a

Grasso's new USB flash drives come adorned in wood and diamonds
Filed under: Storage
Love USB? Love wood? Love high fashion? It's okay if you lied about one of those, we swear. Regardless of the level of your honesty with us (which we now believe to be lower than expected), you'll want to get your grubby mitts all over these fancy pieces of technology / jewelry. Grasso's cross- and apple-shaped flash drives supposedly transmute the story of Adam & Eve into African mahogany, 18-karat gold, Swarovski crystals, and white diamonds. Inside the dolled-up necklaces, you'll find a 1GB USB drive, which will be perfect for holding all the pictures of yourself that you carry around, or video clips of you and your friends on the catwalk. Animated WiFi detector shirt keeps you single with signal
Filed under: Wearables
Life's great priorities -- human interaction and network access -- seem to exist in perpetual tension, but those of you who know exactly where you stand might want to check out this WiFi-detector shirt, which will simultaneously inform passerby that a WiFi network is nearby and that they probably don't need to speak to you. The detachable detector / display combo runs off three AAA batteries for "hours" -- just long enough for you to alienate the locals before heading back to your parents' basement. Scarily enough, it's already out of stock, but ThinkGeek should have more in a couple weeks for $30.[Via

iPhone delayed in France due to unlocking laws?
We're not exactly up on our French, let alone our French telecommunications law, but we're hearing that Apple's supposed launch of the iPhone in that country is being held up by two different regulations that prevent the iPhone from being the locked-down revenue-generating machine Apple wants it to be. The first, a law passed in 1998, requires that carriers unlock any phone upon customer request -- for a fee during the first six months of a contract and for free after that. Notably, all three major French carriers -- including Orange, which was

On the day in which he was to be executed, Presiding Judge Sharon Keller decided to not accept a filing for appeal after 5:00PM, even though a number of personnel stayed after.
