Apple’s diving into the newest wireless standard, 802.11ac, with its Macs. To go along with them, it’s also released an updated version of its AirPort Extreme ($TBD), which has cannibalized the Time Capsule line. In addition to faster Wi-Fi, the base station now has space for a 2TB or 3TB hard drive, if you want it. It also packs “beamforming” antennas, which enhance performance.
