Apple announced today that the company reached a new milestone with more than 25 billion songs purchased and downloaded from the iTunes store. According to Eddy Cue, Apple senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, the store averages "over 15,000 songs downloaded per minute." Apple's music store launched almost 10 years ago in the US. It is now available worldwide in 119 countries and has a catalog of 26 million song titles.
As it has done in the past, Apple rewarded the lucky customer who downloaded the milestone song with an iTunes gift card worth €10,000 (US$13,525). In case you are wondering, the 25 billionth song was "
