iOS 6 will finally reach the general public on September 19th, Apple has announced. The firmware will be backwards-compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S, and 3GS, as well as the fourth-generation iPod touch, and the iPad 2 and third-gen iPad. It's shipping just two days before the arrival of the iPhone 5.
