AVG Windows Phone app caught tracking locations, little else

Mobile antivirus apps and Microsoft's policies were called into question after former Microsoft worker Justin Angel disputed AVG's new Mobilation for Windows Phone 7. He found in a code breakdown that it was not only tracking the phone's location over GPS with the GeoCoordinateWatcher, against Microsoft's guidelines, but sending device IDs and the e-mail address. Little else was being accomplished, ChevronWP7 creator Rafael Rivera added: it so far only looked for EICAR code strings and a Hebrew word.
