Verizon CFO Fran Shammo in a presentation at the Oppenheimer conference on Wednesday said he hadn't been prepared for the later release schedule of the iPhone 5. The carrier had supposedly anticipated that the phone would arrive in June. He didn't drop clues as to when it would ship, but he alluded to CEO Lowell McAdam's plans for a fall launch in saying he expected the company's smartphone targets would be delayed by a quarter.
