HP plans huge July 17 TouchPad store push, defends app count

HP's recently appointed webOS head Stephen DeWitt in an interview Tuesday night explained that the company was effectively having a second, real launch for the TouchPad on July 17. The July 1 release was a soft launch, and this coming weekend would have the "major" efforts, including in-store promos and bundles. HP would also be "transforming the retail experience" to go beyond what HP already has in places like Best Buy, DeWitt told Engadget.
