Before paying royalties, the one-time payment Apple will make in its settlement with Nokia could be worth "several hundred million," estimates UBS analyst Maynard Um. The value is based on an assumption that Apple will have to play "catch-up" with royalty periods, but simultaneously that the company managed to finagle a "more favorable royalty agreement" after March 2011.
