Media server maker ReQuest is hoping to profit off of the work media device makers with threats of a possible patent lawsuit over media syncing, one company revealed after getting a notice letter. A copy obtained this week shows that the Ballston Spa, New York-based firm has been reaching out to companies claiming that they may be using two patents for automatically syncing music, photos, and videos.
