White iPhone 4 production started ahead of launch

A pair of sources said Thursday that Apple had started production on the long planned white iPhone 4. Foxconn had started a factory run that suggested it could be ready to launch inside of a month. The Reuters tip went without a hard release date, though a late April target had been mentioned in the past.
