Apple could be working on an Internet-connected "smart TV," says Ticonderoga Securities' Brian White. The analyst cites "data points" taken from a Chinese electronics trade show this week, which he suggests might even point to a product launch by the end of 2011. "Our research suggests this Smart TV would go well beyond the miniature $99 second-generation Apple TV that the company released last fall and provide a full-blown TV product for consumers," he says.
