Intel plans to make developer kits for its Thunderbolt high-speed connector available later this quarter, opening the field to other device makers outside Intel's partners, AppleInsider reports. The company says the kits will reduce the time needed by device makers to bring Thunderbolt-compatible versions of their products to market. Thunderbolt has been a popular topic at this week's NAB conference, where video accessory makers are showing off compatible products.
