Mac marketshare strongest in northern Europe, stats find

Pingdom, an uptime and web-performance analysis company, has compiled statistics on "desktop OS" marketshare based on data from StatsCounter with a particular focus on Apple, and discovered that Macs are most popular in Switzerland and Luxembourg, both of which are ahead of Apple's home country the United States in terms of market penetration per capita. The stats also provide the clearest picture (apart from Apple's own internal-only sales data) of worldwide marketshare for the company when it comes to its core business -- the Mac.
