Former Sun Microsystems CEO Scott McNealy revealed in a recent talk that had Sun been able to close a deal to acquire Apple in 1996, some of the company's most famous technology -- such as iPads and iPhones -- wouldn't exist, reports eWeek. Speaking to the Silicon Valley technology forum group the Churchill Club yesterday evening, McNealy and Ed Zander (also a former Sun CEO) spoke candidly about the incident, with McNealy admitting that when it came to creating the innovative products that ultimately saved Apple, he would "have screwed that up."
