Apple turns to compettive bidding for outside repairs

Apple has switched to a new system for Genius Bar referrals to outside repair consultants, a TUAW report says. Previously Genius Bar workers would turn to consultants certified through the Apple Consultants Network, who were also often interviewed by store managers. Now the company is said to be using a third-party repair firm, OnForce, as a middleman.
