Sony is preparing to launch its Music Unlimited service in the U.S. today and has used this occasion to debunk the rumor that it was pulling out of iTunes. A recent interview with Michael Ephraim, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment, hinted that Sony may leave iTunes if its own Music Unlimited service saw widespread adoption. Sony Network Entertainment COO Brandon Layden responded to this report by stating:
Sony Music as I understand it has no intention of withdrawing from iTunes, they're one of our biggest partners in the digital domain. I think those words were either taken out of context or the person who spoke them was unclear
