Nokia shareholders fail in attempt to revive MeeGo, Symbian

An attempt by Nokia shareholders to revolt against the switch to Windows Phone 7 died quickly on Wednesday. The project, Nokia Plan B, said a call on shareholders to vote against the board at Nokia's May 3 shareholder meeting had failed. It had tried to stir institutional investors but was told that they were legally required to avoid active support of such projects and that their best options were to sell off shares rather than to actively vote against measures.
