Following a three-month beta testing period, Binary Fruit today formally introduced DiskRadar for Mac OS X -- a combination disk visualizer, file remover, and drive health evaluator that works with all standard internal and external hard drive types, including RAID setups, thumb drives, network share and FUSE drives and even Time Machine volumes. It goes beyond just reporting S.M.A.R.T status and also looks at reallocated bad sectors, CRC errors and other factors -- including a compiled history of such tests -- to improve its ability to predict impending failure.
