The notion that living-room console game players such as the Wii and XBox are the prime platform for indie game developers is shifting, and developers are starting to communicate their experiences with various stores to each other in a more community-minded way. In the case of World of Goo developer 2D Boy, sales from the iPad changed not only their perspective on the importance of diverse game platforms for indie developers, but also made them rethink how to customize their game towards different audiences -- and how to promote it on different platforms.
