RED renames Scarlet to EPIC-S, hikes price to $12,000

RED started the new year with details of the EPIC-S, the newly christened production form of the Scarlet. The name shift reflects a change from the cheaper original body to the same body as the EPIC-M and has the promised upgrade to HDRx (high dynamic range) recording. EPIC-S is focused on "pro, not prosumer," company founder Jim Jannard said.
