A new social data powered GPS application for the iPhone and iPod touch has been released by Cynapse. Localscope is designed to help users quickly explore a location, as well as share information with friends and family. The application collects information about a users location from a variety of sources including Google, Bing, Foursquare, and Twitter. Points of interest around the user are then displayed in a list view with realtime direction pointers and distance meters. Locations can also be plotted out on a map, or displayed through the use of augmented reality
