Other World Computing has added a 3TB drive option to its line of 2010 iMac 27" upgrades, allowing users to have up to 300 percent more internal storage than is offered on stock current-model iMacs. The drive is a Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000, a 7200rpm 3.5-inch standard SATA drive with 64MB onboard cache. The upgrade joins other OWC turnkey iMac upgrades, which include adding an eSATA port to the bottom of the machine, replacing the optical drive with a Blu-Ray optical drive, or replacing the internal hard drive with up to three SSD drives.
