Apple is e-mailing iTunes users a coupon good for a free movie rental -- apparently at random, 9to5 Mac reports. It's not known how widespread this promotion may become, but appears simply to be encouraging more customers to try the rental service, which has seen increased competition from Netflix and other services like Hulu Plus that vie for customer attention.
