New lawsuit targets iTunes video downloads
New Jersey's Multi-Format has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing the latter company of violating a 2003 patent related to video. Titled Multi-format audio/video production system, the patent describes a way of reformatting content so it can run on different devices. Input "may be translated into any variety of graphics or television formats," documentation goes on, "including NTSC, PAL, SECAM, and HDTV, and stored as data-compressed images, using any of several commercially available methods such as Motion JPEG, MPEG, etc."
