Dell will soon begin shipping a 30-inch monitor with a 10-bit in-plane switching (IPS) panel and a 2560x1600 resolution, leaks have confirmed. The UltraSharp U3011 would have a high-quality panel manufactured by LG that would produce the same 1.07 billion colors as Dell's best screens but would be pre-calibrated from the factory. It would muster a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (1,000:1 static) and a 7ms gray-to-gray pixel response time.
