SoftRAID has introduced a new 4.0 version of its self-titled RAID software and disk management utility. Previously announced in January of last year, the upgrade offers a wide range of new features and improvements, such as 64-bit kernel support in Snow Leopard operating systems, and full compatibility for Solid State Disks (SSD). Also amongst the new changes is the ability to now rebuild mirrors approximately 50-times faster, enabling mirror rebuilds to take less than 10 minutes on 1 ñ 2TB volumes.
