Alphonso Labs has launched an unusual new RSS reader for the iPad, Pulse. The app's home screen displays items in the form of a grid, with story images where possible. Each row represents a separate news feed, which can be swiped horizontally to scroll through all of the latest updates. Tapping on a story opens up a text view; from there people can opt to switch to a web view.
