AT&T today reached a settlement in a lawsuit over phone lock-in. As part of a deal to avoid a court verdict, the carrier is required to give unlock codes for the phones of any subscription customer who has had service and been fully paid for at least 90 days. Prepaid users who can prove they bought the phone are also entitled, as are those whose phones are in an AT&T exclusive that lasts 10 months or less.
