High Point has released its RocketRAID Quad eSATA 6Gbs host adapter. The new card is claimed to be the industryís first PCI-Express 2.0 host adapter with four independent 6Gb/s eSATA connectors for the Mac. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and JBOD configurations for performance or data protection. RAID 0 and 10 use striping to increase speed, while RAID 1 simply mirrors volumes for redundancy. RAID 5 balances redundancy and performance.
