SanDisk released the first SD card offering 64 GB of storage space.
This card is based on the SDXC format, as SDHC was limited to 32 GB capacity. So, you will not be able to use it directly into the SD card readers of most notebooks, including the MacBook Pro. However, this card will be compatible with the future customer-oriented Canon EOS 550D. However, the maximal writing speed on this card will be limited to 15 MB/s, a rather limiting factor as it would be the size of a single photo taken in RAW format Its price should be around 350 USD.
