Just about every day there is a new batch of information concerning Sandy Bridge, the architecture that will succeed Nehalem at the beginning of 2011. The latest news: the high-end of the Sandy Bridge chips will be 20% faster than the Nehalem high-end. Attention, this does not mean that at the same frequency they will have 20% more performances but at best that at an equal price there will be 20% increase of power and this is already not bad. This kind of information has at least the merit to occupy us while waiting for Apple to release its Nehalem portables which as you have understood will have the latest Intel for one year.
