The well-known Steve Vozniak, now working for Fusion-IO, a company manufacturing high performance SSD PCI Express units, holds a strange position as scientific adviser. He gave his thoughts on the future of the storage market. As one would have expected, he thinks that PCI Express solution have many more advantages than SATA solutions, and the first one should become much more popular in a near future as their bus is much faster than the current SATA format now well consider as the bottleneck for SSD. Surprisingly, when talking about the future of storage, he does not think that SSD will completely overtake disk-based HD as they will keep holding a huge advantage in term of price/capacity over SSDs.
