Future iPhones may guide stranded people to help, even without cell service

Apple wants the iPhone to be able to lead injured or stranded people to where they can get help, even where lack of internet means traditional location-finding is impossible.An iPhone may be able to guide users to where they can get a connection, and therefore helpApple has previously applied for a patent that would mean iPhones could act as emergency beacons, even when away from Wi-Fi or cellular service.
