Apple developers have been receiving emails today inviting them to try out Apple’s new Bug Reporter beta. Bug Reporter, also known as Radar, is a bug filing tool used by developers to share feedback with Apple on the latest software.

Instagram now lets you organize saved posts in private collections
Instagram today announced a new feature for saving posts, allowing you to store them into folders called private collections. You can create multiple collections, meaning you can use the feature to organize posts you might want to reference at a later date. You’ll be prompted to create a new collection when saving a post:

CBS All Access gains movie streaming as DirecTV Now expands Fox local stations
CBS has expanded its All Access subscription video service to include movie streaming for the first time. CBS All Access primarily offers live and on-demand streaming of original TV shows that air on the network. Meanwhile, DirecTV Now is expanding its coverage for Fox local stations to 14 new markets. That’s nearly double the number of Fox local station markets previously offered.

„iPhone 8”: Touch ID ist entweder vorne oder komplett abstinent
Eine Blaupause, die von Foxconn abgegriffen worden sein soll, hat dieser Tage für zumindest Stirnrunzeln gesorgt. Auf ihr war zu sehen, dass der Touch-ID-Sensor auf der Rückseite ist, was damit begründet wurde, dass es Apple nicht rechtzeitig hinbekommt, ihn in den Bildschirm einzuarbeiten. Ein Analyst hält nun dagegen: Bevor Apple Touch ID auf die Rückseite packt, lassen sie es komplett weg. Weniger ist mehr.

Facebook-Gesetz: Mehrheit begrüßt Gesetz gegen Hasskommentare
Von diversen Anwälten, Netzaktivisten und Wirtschaftsverbänden wird das sogenannte Facebook-Gesetz praktisch unisono abgelehnt. Befürchtet werden zu große Kollateralschäden bei dem Versuch, die Verbreitung von Hassbeiträgen in sozialen Netzwerken einzudämmen. Apple hat heute neue Beta-Versionen veröffentlicht. Sie sind vor allem für Entwickler interessant. Es handelt sich jeweils um die dritte Vorabversion von iOS 10.3.2, macOS Sierra 10.12.5, watchOS 3.2.2 und tvOS 10.2.1 für alle unterstützten iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, Macs und natürlich das Apple TV 4. Im Gegensatz zum letzten Schwung Updates, bei dem neue Features hinzukamen, scheint es sich dabei nur um Fehlerbehebungen zu handeln.

iPhone 8 could ship without Touch ID entirely, analyst believes
iPhone 8 render without front Touch ID
Recent conflicting reports suggest Apple has not yet finalized the design of the flagship iPhone 8 this year in terms of how Touch ID will be implemented. If Apple introduces a new edge-to-edge display as expected, Touch ID will have to change from its bottom front location as the chin is dramatically reduced.
The best case scenario based on rumors is that Apple manages to implement the fingerprint scanner into the new OLED display, although low yield rates may rule that out this year. The less desired scenario is Apple moves Touch ID to the backside like Android phones today.
Now an analyst has floated what would likely be an even less popular scenario: no Touch ID.

Samsung playing a key role in iPhone 8 supply chain management as OLED competition grows
A report out of Korea claims that Samsung will not only be manufacturing the OLED screens for the iPhone 8, but also playing a key role in the supply chain management for related components.
Samsung Display, the display-making unit of Samsung Electronics, is the only panel maker globally that mass-produces OLED panels for smartphones. Its market share stands at a whopping 95 percent currently. Original Macintosh emulator now available on the Internet Archive
It seems to be a day for nostalgia. As Woz & the original Apple I team got together, the Internet Archive has put online a web-based emulator of the original Macintosh from 1984.
The emulator allows you to run a wide range of early Macintosh software, from the MacWrite and MacPaint apps supplied with the machine through games like Lemmings and Frogger to early Microsoft apps like Multiplan and Chart. It even runs Microsoft Flight Simulator 1.02!

Apple will still be here in 2075, says Woz, as original Apple I garage team get together
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has told USA Today that Apple will still be around in 2075 – alongside Google and Facebook.
Apple will be around a long time, like IBM (which was founded in 1911). Look at Apple’s cash ($246.1 billion, as of the end of its last fiscal quarter). It can invest in anything. It would be ridiculous to not expect them to be around (in 2075). The same goes for Google and Facebook.
