Diesen Bug behebt Mozilla nun mit dem neuesten Firefox-Update auf die Version 13.0.1. Apple habe vor, für Podcasts eine neue Bleibe in einer separaten iOS 6-App zu schaffen, um dem Wunsch vieler Fans nach einer iTunes-Diät zu entsprechen. Falls es so kommt, wären die Podcasts dann an einer zentralen Stelle gebündelt und würden nicht mehr wie bisher über iTunes runtergeladen und dann in der Music-App abgespielt. Apple has made its WWDC keynote, delivered on Monday, available to YouTube (at up to 1080p resolution) and available on iTunes as a podcast in both standard and HD editions. Ex-Goldman exec convicted on Apple, Intel insider trading
Today, a federal Jury convicted Rajat Kumar Gupta of trading inside information in a case that involved Intel, Apple, and other technology firms. Out of a six total charges, prosecutors secured convictions on four, and Gupta was acquitted of two. The Wall Street Journal reports that Gupta -- a former director at Goldman Sachs and Proctor & Gamble -- is the most prominent figure yet caught in the government's efforts to stem the flow of insider information to Wall Street.

FCC requests comments on US cellphone RF exposure limits
The Federal Communications Commision is taking a closer look at cell phone safety standards and radiation exposure. The FCC wants to see if the 15-year-old rules on exposure or how safety communications information is relayed to the public need to be updated. A request for comments on the issue is expected before the end of June, but no deadline for remarks has been set.

Facebook's chief technology officer Bret Taylor is leaving his post at the social network later this summer. The executive was previously in charge of both platform and mobile development at Facebook. Phone Halo shows off the Cobra Tag and more at WWDC 2012
We talked about Phone Halo a couple of years ago, when the accessory company was making its own product: A little tracking tag that connected up to your keys or anything else you wanted to hang on to and used a free iPhone app to alert you whenever you needed to find them or whenever they wandered out of range. Russian hacker gets iOS 6 3D maps running on iPhone 4
This had the smell of inevitability about it. Yes, a Russian hacker got 3D maps working on an iPhone 4. It's not complete and turn-by-turn directions aren't working yet, but it's a start.
SlashGear has the story via Russian site iguides. There are instructions on the web, but they are not for the faint-of-heart and require the just released iOS6 jailbreak.
I expect there are a lot of disappointed iPhone 4 users out there who are pretty upset that the maps app has so little functionality on their older phones. I could make a half-case for leaving the 3D flyovers off

Samsung refreshes Series 5 laptops with AMD Trinity processors
We recently got a look at Samsung's new Ivy Bridge-enhanced Series 5 laptops, but it turns out that's not the only refresh the line has gotten this month. Samsung's also now rather quietly introduced a pair of new AMD-based models on its website, including an $850 14-inch version with a quad-core A10-4655M APU, and a $700 13.3-inch model with a quad-core A6-4455M (both otherwise known as Trinity processors). Microsoft ports Kinectimals and My Xbox Live to Android
Kinectimals, Microsoft's first game on iOS, has made its way to Google's mobile platform. NPD: 13.3-inch MacBook Pro to get Retina display in Q4
Analyst firm NPD claims that Apple is set to expand its high-resolution MacBook Pro line with a 13.3-inch offering. In a blog post, NPD revealed findings from its examination of the ODM supply chain, which indicate that a 13.3-inch high-resolution display is already being produced in large quantities. Daily iPhone App: Songza streams music with style
The streaming-music app mini-industry is interesting: I'm guessing at this point that if you use an app for music streaming, you might have found your winner already. Personally, I tend to use Slacker more than others. I've found the selection there pretty good, and the iPhone app has been challenging my music-filled iPod for listening to tunes in my car.
But I will admit that the interface for most of these music apps is lacking. It's basically a series of menus to let you look up the song you want. PSA: Dropbox scraps Public folders July 31st, your sharing stays intact

Standalone podcast app from Apple coming to iOS 6
Not long after the iOS 6 beta was released, inquiring listeners wanted to know, what happened to podcasts? AllThingsD's Peter Kafka appears to have the answer: Apple is planning a standalone app for podcasts in iOS 6.

I met the creators of Elphi at IndieDevLab and was shocked to discover their awesome product was woefully underfunded on Kickstarter. Sure, a remote control power plug sounds a little boring, but if you've ever driven off on vacation and thought you left the hairdryer plugged in you know what peace of mind this could bring.
