Startup's headset will bathe your brain in ultrasound, might help fight cancer, too
The scientific community has spent a decade exploring ultrasound as a means of breaking through the blood-brain barrier -- a layer of tightly-packed cells that surround the brain's blood vessels, making it difficult for doctors to deliver chemotherapy and other treatments to cancer patients. Thus far, though, most ultrasound-based techniques have relied upon complex and often costly equipment, including MRI machines and infusion pumps. US-Armee entscheidet sich für Android-Smartphones
Laut eines Berichts des US-Magazins Wired testet die US-amerikanische Armee derzeit eine neue Smartphone-Plattform auf Android-Basis. Local TV station visits Apple's data center
A Fox affiliate in Charlotte, North Carolina took a closer look at Apple's new data center in the town of Maiden. The news story and accompanying video is rife with speculation about the intended usage of this 500,000 square foot building.
Once you get past the references for Apple's supposed "Netflix-Killer" video streaming service, a rumor kicked off by analyst Peter Misek of Jefferies and Company, the video has some shots of the data center and pithy facts about the land Apple occupies.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 confirmed, faster-charging integrated battery detailed
Yesterday's speculation has turned into today's fact. The ultraslim Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is most definitely real, coming soon, and just so happens to be packing some fancy new battery technology as well. This intel comes straight from Lenovo's own servers, where a highly informative PDF (intended for reseller partners, but accessible to all) dishes the dirt on the upcoming laptop. US Army opts for Android over iPhone
Wired is reporting that the US Army has chosen to use an Android-based phone as its first smartphone for US troops. Now in prototype stage, the US Army Android smartphone is called the Joint Battle Command-Platform and will have its SDK released to Android developers in July. RIM wants Hulu Plus on the Blackberry PlayBook, 'conversations' continue
RIM wants Hulu Plus on the just-released Blackberry PlayBook. It also wants everyone to know it wants Hulu Plus on the Blackberry PlayBook, after the streaming video service unceremoniously blocked access to its videos just days after the tablet's launch. TS3Cine Kamera nimmt 720fps mit 720p auf (Videos)

Superzeitlupe schön und gut, aber die meisten Consumer Kameras schaffen das nur mit erheblichen Einbußen in Sachen Auflösung. Nicht so die TS3Cine, eine "günstige" Highspeed-Kamera, die im August auf den Markt kommt und 720 fps mit 720p Auflösung schafft. Für 29900 Dollar gibt es die Kamera, 256 GB SSD kosten dann nochmal 2000 Dollar extra. Video: Erstaunlicher Industrieroboter aus Lego Mindstorms erledigt Fließbandarbeit fast wie ein Großer

In diesem Lego-Projekt steckt laut Tüftler Chris Shepherd (Quelle-Link) jahrelange Entwicklungsarbeit, gefolgt von einigen Monaten Bau- und Programmiereinsatz. Zwei Fließbänder liefern vier Legorobotern Material, welches diese zum Beispiel nach Farbe sortieren. Jeder Roboter schafft dabei 12 Stück in einer Minute und braucht somit nur fünf Sekunden pro Kunde. Laut Chris ist sein Werk ein sogenannter Delta-Roboter, in Wikipedia als Industrieroboter "mit 3 gestellfest montierten Rotationsachsen und räumlicher Parallelogrammführung der Arbeitsplattform" beschrieben. Neues MacBook Air: Produktionsstart im Mai
Im späten Mai werde Apple mit der Produktion neuer MacBook Air-Modelle beginnen, verrät Concord Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Apple has filed a new application for a trademark on the word "Startup," centering around the category of "[r]etail store services featuring computers, computer software, computer peripherals, mobile phones, and consumer electronic devices, and demonstration of products relating thereto." Leak: Specs zu Dells neuen Android- und Windows-Tablets

Ganz neu sind diese drei Dell-Geräte nicht, es gab bereits im Februar mal einen Leak. Nun haben die Tablets aber Namen erhalten: die beiden 10-Zoller heißen Latitude ST und Streak Pro, der 13-Zoller hört auf Latitude XT-3. Und auch die Specs sind schön sauber aufgelistet in der oben abgebildeten Tablet-Roadmap, mitsamt den drei unterschiedlichen Daten zum Verkaufsstart. Das einzige, was hier leider noch nicht verraten wird, sind die Preise.

Sony: PlayStation Network-Ausfall durch Angriffe von aussen verursacht

How would you change Lenovo's ThinkPad X120e?
It's one of the first Fusion-based laptops out of the gate -- certainly one of the first with a semi-business-oriented shell -- and we found it to be one of the best modern ThinkPads we'd seen when reviewing it a few months back. Naturally, the quantity of machines shipping with the E-350 APU is swelling, but the X120e still touts one of the most unique feature sets available. Mac OS X Lion sporting 1024x1024 icons, 3200x2000 wallpapers; Retina display Macs coming?
MacMagazine.com.br has posted an interesting find. Apparently the latest build of Lion includes some icons which are sized at 1024x1024. That's twice the current 512x512 size of icons in Snow Leopard. Additionally, on April 2nd, Mac blog OSXDaily found some of the default wallpaper resolutions in Lion to be as large as 3200×2000 pixels.
These wallpaper and icon size increases are interesting because, as far as the wallpaper resolution goes, Apple currently does not make a display that supports that high of a pixel density. Given the fact that Apple i

Apple protoype spotted with T-Mobile 3G signal
A rumor fresh out of BGR suggests Apple is testing the iPhone for T-Mobile. A crystal clear image shows a white iPhone rocking a 3G signal from the wireless carrier. Since the current iPhone 4 does not support T-Mobile's 3G AWS 1700 MHz band, this is either a legitimate leak, a clever hack or some Photoshop magic.
The prototype model reportedly sport an internal model number of N94 which fits in with Apple's numbering scheme. The Verizon iPhone is N92, the GSM model is N90 and the iPhone 5 was thought to be N94. This does not mean the above handset is the iPhone 5. It may be a prototype used to test the performance of a 3G radio compatible with T-Mobile's network. It may also be a fake. It's not like that
