The makers of the handy auto-text utility TextExpander, Smile Software, have announced a dramatic change in plans for the recently-announced TextExpander 6 for Mac, which unexpectedly emerged as a subscription-only upgrade that required a cloud account and mandatory paid plans in order to upgrade to the latest version of the software last Thursday.
