Facebook has apologized to its users for sending out notifications for one of its disaster response programs to the wrong people. Following after the explosion in Lahore, Pakistan yesterday, caused by a suicide bomber and believed to have killed more than 70 people, the social network activated its Safety Check system, but it inadvertently sent notifications under the program to people thousands of miles away from where the incident actually took place.
