One genuine surprise during the various announcements made today at the "Let Us Loop You In" event in Cupertino was a permanent price cut to base model of Apple Watch Sport, which will now be reduced by $50 to a new entry point of $299 for the 38mm version, down from its original $399. The price of the 42mm model was also reduced by $50, and now starts at $349 (previously $399). The new price cut is not reflecting in the regular (stainless steel) Watch model, nor the gold Edition variation.
