AT&T has detailed its plans for "5G" testing. The telecom giant plans to collaborate with Ericsson and Intel to work on 5G solutions starting in the second quarter of this year, with outdoor tests and trials over the summer. Field trials of 5G technologies in Austin, TX will begin before the end of this year. AT&T expects the new technology to deliver wireless speeds between 10 and 100 times faster than 4G LTE offerings, with lower latency in the range of one to five milliseconds.
